We're excited to be launching our newest office in Newlab Detroit, located in the historically renowned Michigan Central Building. Designed by Albert Kahn, the original building opened in 1936, named the Roosevelt Annex.

In 2018, it was bought by Ford Motor Co. to become a key piece in the Michigan Central vision. Today, it remains a significant landmark and global hub for mobility innovation.
We're excited to be joining this first-of-its-kind ecosystem and build a strong base to provide feasibility tests for our North American clients and partners. Our Detroit office establishes a North American base to serve local partners, integrators, and manufacturers who are driving automation forward. This location will support AI-powered 3D vision feasibility testing, pilot installations, and robotic automation applications for a wide range of industries.
Cambrian brings AI 3D Vision Robotics to Detroit, Michigan
At the new facility, Cambrian will demonstrate and validate complex robotic vision applications, including:
Bin picking and part localization for manufacturing and assembly lines
Cable handling and routing, enabling robots to detect, grasp, and insert flexible cables with precision
Precision assembly of reflective, black, or shiny components
Kitting and pick-and-place automation for mixed or unstructured parts
All demonstrations are powered by Cambrian Vision, our AI 3D vision system that enables robots to “see” the world like humans, recognizing transparent, glossy, or black parts in any lighting condition without structured light or calibration. The team will be at Automate 2025 between May 12-15, come by stand #604 where you can see Cambrian Vision in action.
