The beginning of 2025 has been an exciting time for the Cambrian team. Alongside continuous improvements that make our AI vision easier to configure, train, and deploy, we are introducing two major software releases: Cambrian Training 2.2 and Cambrian Vision 2.2.
These updates enhance how integrators and manufacturers use Cambrian’s AI 3D vision, bringing faster setup, smarter simulation, and greater accuracy to model configuration and validation.

Cambrian Training 2.2 brings a new look and many quality of life improvements to AI model configuration.

Cambrian Vision 2.2
Cambrian Vision 2.2 expands the system’s core functionality with two key features that help engineers plan, test, and verify robot performance in real-world setups.
CAD loading: Users can now load CAD files directly into the Cambrian Vision environment. This enables visualization of complete robotic cells, movement simulation, and collision avoidance checks against real geometries. It helps validate workspace layouts and ensures safe robot motion before deployment.

Box reachability tests: The new Box Reachability Test allows users to import or define a box model and quickly evaluate if a robot can reach specific areas within the bin or workspace. This feature helps identify potential blind spots or unreachable zones early in the design phase, saving valuable time and iteration.

Both releases make AI model setup, testing, and deployment faster and more predictable. Whether you are integrating Cambrian Vision for bin picking, assembly, or cable handling, these updates provide a smoother path to reliable automation.

AI 3D Vision for Smarter Robotics and Automation
Cambrian’s AI 3D vision technology is designed for the most demanding robotic automation tasks from bin picking and assembly to kitting, machine tending, and cable handling. Unlike traditional 2D or structured-light systems, Cambrian Vision uses stereo AI and deep learning to detect transparent, shiny, or black parts under any lighting conditions. This makes it ideal for industrial robots, collaborative robots, and mobile manipulators working in manufacturing, automotive, electronics, or medical device environments.
With features like CAD model visualization, collision avoidance, and reachability testing, engineers can now simulate complete robot workspaces before deployment — ensuring safe motion, optimized cycle times, and higher production efficiency.Combined with Cambrian Training 2.2, integrators can configure AI models faster, train them on multiple parts, and achieve repeatable results across UR, Doosan Robotics, ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa robots, Hyundai Robotics, Rokae and Dobot.
